Witnesses and tips sought in hit and run collision that injured a pedestrian on Blacow Rd.

On Monday, June 8, 2015, at approximately 8:51 a.m., Fremont Police Department personnel responded to the intersection of Blacow Rd and Garden Way to investigate a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Officers arrived and found a 27 year old male suffering from major non-life threatening injuries. Officers also learned that the driver of the vehicle, who struck the pedestrian, had fled the scene immediately following the collision.

The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was crossing Blacow Rd eastbound from Garden Way in the crosswalk and was struck by the suspect vehicle in the number two lane of southbound Blacow Rd. The suspect vehicle may be damaged along the passenger side of the vehicle resulting from this collision. We unfortunately do not have a description of the vehicle and no witnesses have come forward at this point in our investigation.

The Fremont Police Department Traffic Unit is asking for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to please come forward and call Officer J. Aranguren #12510 at (510) 790-6765, or email at

Any public assistance would be appreciated and anonymous tips are welcomed. Thank you in advance.
