Chief's Message

Dear Citizen,

In order for the Fremont Police Department to establish and maintain the best community relations possible, I would appreciate knowing how you feel about your contact with the Fremont Police Department and its personnel.

Our objective is to provide you with the best possible service at all times. The nature of our business, however, can result in stressful encounters and misunderstandings. Your perceptions and observations are of value to us and can assist us in our efforts to continually improve our services.

If your contact was negative, this page will explain the procedures for filing your complaint about the incident. A complaint will be investigated and an administrative review will be conducted. You will be advised of our findings.

You may simply have a concern about something you saw an employee do, or the way an employee treated you. You may also wonder why an employee acted the way they did, reacted in a manner that was confusing to you, or you may want to seek clarification on a procedural issue.

Also, we would like to hear about positive experiences. Please feel free either to call, or write us and let us know if you have received commendable service from any of our employees. That truly is what we are striving for.

If you have any information that might assist the Fremont Police Department in solving a crime, or any suggestions that might improve our service to the community, I would appreciate your sharing that information with me.

Craig T. Steckler
Chief of Police
