National Night Out 2010 National Night Out 2010

Host a Block Party on National Night Out
Tuesday, August 3, 2010
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

National Night Out 2010 is an annual nationwide event designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and unity, raise crime prevention awareness, and develop partnerships between the City and the community-on a street, block and city-wide level. This year, the city-wide celebration will include Neighborhood Crime Watch groups, CERT members, homeowners associations, and other neighborhood groups interested in celebrating and strengthening their neighborhood connections.

Hosting a National Night Out party is a simple way for people to meet one another, have fun, and explore how they might work together to improve the safety and quality of their neighborhood. The City of Fremont encourages neighborhoods to organize a block party, barbecue, ice cream social or similar gathering.

If you plan to block off your street for your celebration, you will need to get a block party permit from the City of Fremont by calling Nancy Tacchella at 494-4473. The deadline to file for a PERMIT is Thursday, July 01, 2010.

As many of you are aware, the Fremont Police Department, along with many other law enforcement agencies around the country, has been faced with budgetary constraints. It is with great regret that we have to inform all of our participants that we will not be able to guarantee a visit to every party. In addition, special requests will not be taken this year. A lottery system will be used to choose the parties that receive a visit. In order to participate in the lottery system, it is essential that you register your party by the deadline.
